About
A bit about me and my journey
Hey, I'm Guilherme Gonzalez. I've been working in the tech industry since April 2018 — over 8 years of hands-on delivery. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Information Systems and an MBA in Full-Stack Development focused on the JavaScript ecosystem, software architecture, and design patterns.
My core stack is JavaScript and TypeScript end-to-end — Node.js and NestJS on the backend, React and Next.js on the frontend, with PostgreSQL as my primary database. On the infrastructure side, I've worked extensively with GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, BigQuery), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions.
When I'm not coding, you'll likely find me on the mats training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It's been a passion of mine that teaches discipline, problem-solving, and humility — lessons that translate surprisingly well into software development.
Some moments
My Journey
I started my career in IT in April 2018 as a Support Analyst at a clinical laboratory, where I built my first automation script — a JavaScript tool that processed Excel lab results, cutting manual data entry by 80%. That early win ignited my passion for solving real problems through code.
After transitioning to Software Engineering in 2021, I quickly moved into high-impact roles. At FCamara, I designed and built a NestJS payment microservice integrating Brazilian bank APIs and PIX — the system handled thousands of transactions with zero silent failures and generated over R$6 million in revenue in under four months. I also built automated ETL pipelines with GCP Cloud Functions and BigQuery, replacing multi-day manual processes with fully automated runs completing in under an hour.
More recently, I built an AI-powered cargo tracking agent on Kubernetes using Node.js, LangChain, and Dapr, with real-time integrations to Microsoft Teams and Outlook. I also created a pipeline where Claude Code reads project wikis and auto-generates implementation specs and components, cutting new project setup from 3 days to under 1. All of this was done remotely for North American companies, in small teams where I owned features end-to-end — from architecture to production.

I consider myself a specialist in JavaScript/TypeScript and its ecosystem.

Beyond Work
When I'm not coding, you'll likely find me on the mats training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. It's been a passion of mine that teaches discipline, problem-solving, and humility — lessons that translate surprisingly well into software development.
I love traveling and exploring new cultures. Whether it's a weekend trip to a nearby city or an adventure abroad, experiencing different places and meeting new people is something that truly enriches my life.
Cooking is another creative outlet for me. I enjoy experimenting with new recipes and cuisines, turning the kitchen into my own little laboratory. There's something deeply satisfying about creating a delicious meal from scratch.
I'm also passionate about AI and LLMs, always exploring how we can integrate them to improve our daily lives and build powerful tools. And yes, I still make time for strategy video games when I can!
